How to Make Your Social Media Accounts Appealing

How to Make Your Social Media Accounts Appealing When most people apply for a new job, their main interest is to complete the perfect resume and cover letter. Some of them pay attention to the LinkedIn profile, and that’s where their focus on social media stops. Leaving your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram profiles unattended is a huge mistake. The practices of human resource managers evolve in accordance with the situation on the job market. Emily Asher, Head of Freelance HR Department of Australian Writings Pty Ltd, shares details about the practices of her team: “Thanks to social media platforms, information is more accessible than ever. When hiring managers have access to such insights, they will inevitably use them. Our company gets dozens of applications for writing positions on a daily basis. The first step of the process involves evaluation of the candidate’s skills and educational background. These details are available in the application documents. Of course, we don’t stop there.”   Your Social Media Presence Conveys Your Personality Yes, your application documents are certainly important. Every human resource department is mainly concerned about your resume/CV and cover letter. If you don’t submit excellent documents, you won’t stand a chance to be considered. However, the application is not all you should focus on. “A candidate’s Facebook profile conveys his personality. We are able to find a proof of the interests listed in the resume. Did he become part of any discussions? Did he share articles he wrote? What was the feedback? Simple tweets and statuses also influence our decision. We do not hire those applicants whose posts lack basic literacy, no matter how impressive their resumes were. Personally, I also appreciate when the candidates keep their political affiliation to themselves. We commonly get orders on sensitive topics, so we don’t want their strong opinions to affect the final result.”   Okay, we got that part clear. You won’t leave a nice impression to a potential employer if you write you’re instead of your in your tweets. What happens if you can’t be located on social media platforms, or you make your profiles extremely private? “That’s a bit disappointing,” â€" Asher explains. “Of course we’ll consider the candidate and enable him to proceed with the tests that each writer has to complete before entering our team. However, the applicant who impresses us through his social media presence always stands a better chance.” There are some basic rules that apply when you want to turn your social media profiles into job hunting tools. 1) Complete your bio! Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other networks enable you to add details about your personal and professional experience. Don’t leave these sections blank. Recruiters are all over social media; they are always ready to make a nice offer to someone who catches their eye. A clean, informative profile shows that you are a diligent person who’s proud of his/her experience and is ready to progress on the career ladder. 2) Do a photo cleanup! You don’t want a hiring manager to see how hard you partied last Saturday. Your high school and college photos are more relevant than you might think; they can really harm your career. If there is any photo or publication that shows you in an inappropriate way, you should remove it or make it private. Even when you’re applying for a position in a creative industry, potential employers won’t like seeing you half-naked on the beach. You can easily boost your appeal as a candidate if you simply do a photo cleanup. 3) Don’t be offensive! It’s okay to involve yourself in a passionate discussion about a cause you care about. Getting offensive instead of offering strong arguments is simply wrong! Do not discuss other people’s political or religious affiliations. These comments can easily be located through Google, even when they are not on your own profile. Be tolerant to sexual minorities and all cultures. 4) Grammar is always important! You thought that Twitter was a place where you could simply relax without thinking about complex grammar rules? Think again! When you make silly misspellings, you probably justify them with the fact that you were in a hurry to express your thoughts, or your phone pulled an autocorrect on you again. Do you know how a hiring manager perceives these mistakes? As lack of attention and literacy! If you’re dealing with an authoritative hiring manager, he will care about the spelling, punctuation, grammar, and context of every post available on your profiles. 5) Use a professional email address If the public email address on your social media profile is something like sexykoala@hotmail.com, you can’t expect to leave a good impression. Use your name in the email username, and make sure to choose a respectable provider.   6) Adjust the privacy settings As Ms. Asher explained, hiring managers are not happy to see a completely private Facebook profile. This doesn’t mean you should share everything, though. Check the timeline; you’ll probably notice some silly statuses back in 2007. Clean them up or make them private. You can check how your Facebook profile appears to other people when you use the ‘View As’ feature. Put yourself in the role of an employer: would you hire you based on what you see? 7) See what Google knows about you! When an employer gets your application, he will first read your resume. If you leave a good impression, guess what he’ll do next: Google you. You need to prepare yourself for this practice. Conduct a search for your name and examine all information carefully: the web results, images, videos, and everything else you get! If any embarrassing results float on the surface, you should fix the damage before a hiring manager sees it. Take the compromising photos and statuses down. If you get results for another person with the same name, there’s nothing much you can do about it. You don’t want the employer to be misled by this info, so the best solution is to include a photo in your resume. Your Online Reputation Can Land You a Job… or Cost You an Opportunity! Your social media postings can influence an employer’s decision. If your job application documents put you in the same rank with other candidates, the interviewing choices will be most likely based on everyone’s social media presence. Do not leave your profiles unattended. Make sure to build a great online reputation that you want everyone to be aware of!       Author:  Stephanie Norman is a freelance tutor and writer for australianwritings.com  from Sydney, with 4 years of experience. Are You a Part of the Groups That Can Benefit From Using Resume Categories?

Are You a Part of the Groups That Can Benefit From Using Resume Categories?Resume categories are a good way to organize your resume. They can make the process of creating your resume much easier and quicker for you. The categories can be varied depending on what job you are applying for. And they can be found in any job site that offers resume tips.Categories can also be useful when you are interviewing people for a position. There is nothing wrong with categorizing the resumes of applicants in order to see who is the best fit for the job. If they fit the application criteria of the position, then there is no need to go on to another category. It is important to determine who you would like to interview and what types of jobs you would like to have, so that you know what category you will want to start the screening process with. But are there other benefits to using resume categories? There are many different reasons why you should consider using these in your own job search. There a re certain positions that you can submit a resume for, that will require more advanced skills than others. For example, an employee with advanced computer skills would not want to be considered for a job at a hardware store. It is likely that the information you possess would be more suited to a position at a software or database company. The companies that hire for the specialized positions will be able to better identify what you are looking for, and how you are going to find that specific information. In addition, with the work from home companies becoming more popular, there are times when you will need to utilize specialized skills to do your job correctly. When you are listing up all of the different resumes that you submitted for each job, it is going to take some time. Many of the job listings that will be used for the same positions will have multiple categories that you need to list the resumes under. Resumes can be organized in a number of different ways, depending on what job itis that you are trying to get.One of the reasons why you might consider these categories is that there are other people who are in a similar situation as you. If you think about it, when you look for work, you might be receiving several resumes for the same position, all with a different cover letter and different writing styles. You may be a different gender, or a different age groups, or an ethnic group. You may have someone who has been in the job hunt for a while and has no idea how to properly list their resume. These categories help to guide people through the process by giving them some guidelines on how to organize their resumes, to get them read for hire. The categories in the applications are to help applicants have a better chance of getting into the interview. This is where the applications are put together, to help people find the exact positions they are after. The category's can be used for any job, and many people find that they use them after they have a job and a position. A person who has just started a job may find it useful to use the categories to help organize his or her resume.

Starting a Blog Consider Your Brand First.

Starting a Blog Consider Your Brand First. Some of the most popular posts of all time on MsCareerGirl.com are about starting a side hustle.  For those who havent heard me use this term before, a side hustle is a hobby or passion project that brings you joy.  Your side hustle is done outside of your day job and naturally leads to meeting new people who share your interests.  In many cases (like mine) it could  accidentally  redefine the trajectory of your career. Side hustles may or may not become full time gigs. One thing is for sure though: a side hustle will improve other areas of your life because youre doing something that you love. However, turning your website into a respected and potentially profitable resource can prove to be much trickier. Aspiring bloggers routinely face challenges like retaining readership, consistently producing quality content, engaging readers and, ultimately, earning a financial return on all your hard work. While to conquer each of these trials can be quite an involved process, one crucial component to your various quandaries is branding. Not sure what I mean? Your brand is the foundation of your blog.  Here are six things to consider while defining your blogs brand. 1)   Understand that your blog is so much more than the words you publish Your written tone, color scheme, font choice, visual layout, photo selection, and dozens of other details culminate to create a comprehensive experience for your visitors. In order to have a strong and memorable presence that is associated with your name and logo, you must make sure that the message is being communicated throughout all facets of your website. Take a second to imagine a site that claims to be a reliable resource for the latest fashion, but features low-quality photographs, and posts infrequently. The conclusions of the viewer will be far from what the blogger intended. Therefore, it is wise to list of the different elements of your blog (including your subject matter, social media and editorial calendar) and to identify the ways through which each individual component can stress your brand. Understanding color psychology will help drive home the impression and emotions you are trying to evoke as well. 2) Define what you represent, then create a  logo around those values It is important that you craft or develop a symbol that will serve as an easily-identifiable representation of your brand and story. Many bloggers opt to have this be their own face, something that can play an increasingly greater role with Google’s new “authorship markup.” The identifier can also be a memorable catchphrase or a small symbol that you use to watermark all your photographs and pins, and one that you  place on merchandise. If you place this representation enough times on pieces that exemplify your community, it will be associated with trust and authority, which will be especially helpful in the social media realm. 3) Find your voice In order for your brand to be remembered, it must be associated with something worth remembering. While you may feel tempted to shy away from controversy that may anger some readers, talking candidly about hot topic issues or exposing personal experiences will add depth to your words, dimension to the written personality, and noteworthiness to your blog. After all, hundreds of bloggers may be covering topics like “my picks for summer bathing suits,” but much fewer are going to divulge how they feel nervous about wearing bikinis because of their abundant cellulite. Read other online publications to understanding the blogging landscape, and then try and carve your own unique path so you stand out from the crowd. To get started check out Penelope Trunk and Jen Lancaster. 4) Cultivate quality relationships Be selective with who you allow to advertise and guest post on your blog. Reach out to your favorite bloggers and develop friendships, as well as mutually beneficial business relationships. By being a regular in conversations and focusing on your niche, you will demonstrate that you are genuinely interested and knowledgeable, raising your profile among certain circles. All you have to do to get started is create a list.  Then interact with these people on Twitter, Facebook and in their blog comments.  Eventually send them an email.  Most bloggers will appreciate the kindness and be totally open to collaboration. 5) Study Bloggers who have strong brands Here are five examples of very strong blog brands.  Each of these blogs has things in common even though the topics they write about are totally different.  They all rely heavily on high quality images (you can do this too, just use PicMonkey.com), peppering in their own personal story, and series/columns to keep people coming back. Health Fitness: ToneItUp.com Twenty-Something Lifestyle: TheEveryGirl.com Career Advice: LevoLeague.com Entrepreneurship: ThinkTraffic.net Killer Content:  BuzzFeed.com 6) Test your brand on someone  elses  blog If youre a regular reader of this blog, you know that we have several contributors. Each of our contributors has her own column that is focused on a specific area. For example: Beauty, Money, Home Decor, Dating, Career Advice. A few of our contributors have their own own sites, but most write  because  they are testing out their voice, brand and  commitment  to blogging first.  If you have an area of expertise or a passion youd like to write about but arent crazy about having your own blog, consider being a columnist/contributor for a blog like MCG.  Its a great way to build a portfolio, cultivate relationships and actively define your brand. (PS- I am currently looking for 2-3 new columnists to cover topics within Work, Home and Dating. If interested in writing for us twice per month, send me an email: [emailprotected]). Rome wasn’t built in a day and your blog wont be either. Before you start blogging, clearly define your brand.  Don’t get discouraged if your efforts seem to have little impact at first its totally normal. Remember that side hustles (especially those that revole around a blog!) are intended to be fun, so take whatever actions are necessary to continue to enjoy your work. After all, your passion will always set your apart and perhaps even define your brand.

Why being admired is overrated

Why being admired is overrated We are driving to cello lessons in Madison. Maybe you realize that just last week I wrote about about driving to cello lessons in Madison. Maybe my drives to Madison will be like Monets cathedrals: Ill just keep popping them out, each written from a different angle, and you will learn to see the nuances of our family interactions in different lights. In todays story we are late. I was going to shave my legs before we left because Ive never been great at shaving. I always tell myself Ill get them waxed next week and then I dont. But I just read how we perceive women to be good looking if they look like they spend a lot of time caring about their looks. So I thought I might spend some time caring. Seeking admiration is a mental disorder. My husband and my son are in the car, waiting. I felt bad. I could have kept them waiting for one leg, but not two. It would be too inconsiderate and I worry my son  will spend adult life telling a  therapist I was a narcissist. Is it narcissistic to think my kid will be consumed with recovering from my narcissism? People with Aspergers and people with narcissism look very similar because both seem overly concerned with themselves. The difference is that people with narcissism have a deep need for admiration and people with Aspergers dont need other peoples approval. I go to the car with my hairy legs as soon as I notice they are waiting. My son tells me my clothes dont match and my husband tells me I have toilet paper stuck to my skirt. I do not fix either. My husband, who is not the official driver of our family, is driving. Heres why: We flew to  Montana for my nephews bar mitzvah. And when  we got back to the Madison airport, my husband could not  find our car. A few years ago I lost our car at OHare, and my husband said, If I lost my car in a parking lot, Id go straight to the emergency room to have an MRI. Because there would have to be something really wrong. I made a note to myself to make an MRI joke later. In the meantime, I called security and asked them to look up our license plate.  My husband came  back two hours later. I pretty much wanted to kill him. But it turned out he wanted to kill me more: I didnt make payments on the BMW  for four months and the bank repossessed it. Oh, I said, processing the news. Then I looked up at him to see how angry he was and said, Thats surprising that they knew where the car was. I guess it has a chip in it or something. He said, How are we getting home? He asked because I am in charge of all things non-farm. Which includes getting back to the farm. Its not that I forgot to pay. Its more like I forgot how important it is to pay. Or I forgot how much I was forgetting to pay. Or something like that. I mean, I always know in the back of my head that I need to make the monthly payment. But its like how I always know in the back of my head that I need to cut out sugar and carbs. The other car we have (yes, I am supposed to make payments on two cars) is a Honda Fit. My husband picked it out and when I told him that the cello doesnt fit and no one but him wants to drive stick shift, he told me it is his midlife crisis car and he never does impractical things and he wants to get the car. As long as we were both in agreement that the car is impractical, I got on board. Empathy wastes energy. So now the midlife crisis car is our primary car and Carla, the driver, cant  drive it. Fortunately, its not that inconvenient for my husband to drive it today because we have to go to the repossession place to get our stuff out of the BMW and hes the only one who can do it because his name is on the car because when we bought the car he had amazing credit. That seems so long ago. I have messed up his credit because I have inconsistent cash flow from my business. And sometimes Im not just missing payments I said Id make, but Im also borrowing money from his farm account. I have empathy for how he is way outside his financial comfort zone with me. But empathy doesnt lead to action. In fact, empathy has been shown to actually undermine righteous  action, which maybe means I have an oversized amount of empathy for him. But since  empathy is really overrated,  maybe I should preserve my energy for something more virtuous. Shame marks  an immature  stage of  personal development. We drive to Madison and  I am answering email, and my son is listening to Haydn in C, and my husband is stressing about people seeing him  cleaning out a car thats been repossessed. No one cares, I tell him. Its okay. Well get a different car. Its fine. He says its a shame thing. He says, Not everyone can be like you and Donald Trump. What? What are you talking about? I have to peer around the top of the cello in the front seat to be able to see his face to check if hes joking. You and Donald Trump are the only two people I know who have no sense of shame. I tell him thats interesting because Putin is having trouble keeping his government together and the Economist reports that Alexei Navalny, a popular blogger,  is the most  viable opposition leader.  I tell my husband: Im thinking maybe bloggers and world leaders have the same traits. He drives. Emails. Haydn. Emails. Haydn. Emails. Haydn. Then we are at the car repossession place and theres our BMW, parked between two cars that look like they are not worth the time it took to repossess them. My husband wants to make sure we dont bring sticky, gunky kid junk into his midlife crisis car. As he  checks every little compartment, I rescue Monet and Modernism from under the seat. But I am distracted by a stash of disposable razors in the glove compartment. I put  my foot on the seat because its not our seat anymore, and I start shaving. The sun  shines  at a perfect angle to see all the hairs I might otherwise miss. He asks if I have to do that now and I say yes. If I did it  in your car  I would make your car dirty, I tell him. I shave. He searches. Hes looking for stuff we might not want to forget, but  I like the idea of forgetting most of it. The payments are $1100 a month. Im sick of them. Im happy to be rid of the car. I just wish it hadnt happened at the airport. Thats the difference between shame and guilt: shame is thinking I am bad for having my car repossessed. Guilt is taking responsibility for not having a car to drive home from the airport. Admiring  people makes you feel  good. But envy  makes you take action. We are unscrewing the license plate. My husband wants to keep it as a souvenir of the time we hit rock bottom. I dont tell him this is totally not as bottom as my rock bottom. My son stays in the car the whole time. He sees Im giddy that we wont have BMW payments so he thinks nothing bad has happened. It reminds me of when he was a toddler learning  to walk and  hed inadvertently gain speed and then start running and then trip and fall and if we didnt make a big deal about it, he wouldnt realize he should be crying. Cassie calls me to get feedback on her investor pitch. I tell her I cant talk because our car was repossessed and we have to clean it out. She talks anyway. She says she is in money trouble right now too. She says most small business owners are women selling to women and women dont do nearly as much in the summer because they have kids at home. So basically, unless youre selling pool passes, summer is not a good time for cash flow. Then, because she hates when I dont realize that she is full of brilliant insight, she sends me this link abut how Etsy sales plummet in summertime. She also sends me an article that says America is full of high-earning poor people, and people who are Internet famous have no money, and suddenly I feel very on-trend. I wish I were a good role model. The Harvard Business Review  published research that shows striving to be role models holds women back  because women focus on that so much more than men do, and it distracts from career advancement.  So the car repossession must be catapulting my career to the top. So its  not healthy to want to be admired. You could cultivate envy because envy, more than admiration, inspires action. But I think, instead, we should strive to admire. Psychologist, Jonathan Haidt, in his book, The Righteous Mind,  considers admiration something like gratitude with a moral component. Its the emotion we feel when someone does something good or skillfulit helps us feel transcendent ourselves. Admiration elevates life. But being admired ourselves has nothing to do with that experience. My husband is so stressed about our financial doom that he arrives at the cello lesson early and says hes taking a walk. Thats what he does when hes stressed, he walks. He is working really hard to adjust to life with me: financial windfalls and financial black  holes, bad credit and me constantly chasing my next idea for a business. And I admire that. Which is an emotion that makes me feel calm and secure. And thats how I deal with the slow cash flow of summertime months.

Resume Writing For Success

Resume Writing For SuccessWhen it comes to getting a job, a resume is something that is often written by the applicant. It is therefore very important that the applicant has clearly defined expectations and this means that the application form should be clean and concise. An important component of this is that it is clear. It should be able to articulate the applicant's achievements and what skills are needed in the position. It should also be brief and easy to read and it should not contain any unnecessary details. There are some key components that should always be included when it comes to resume writing for success. First is that the job should clearly describe the applicant's qualifications and should offer a good description of the position. Next is that the work should be both challenging and relevant. The requirements need to be clear and easy to understand. These two key elements are quite vital. The first is that a resume should be specific about the job and include all the ne cessary information. The second is that it should be able to offer a solution to the problem the job is trying to solve. Lastly, it should show that the applicant can work as part of a team. These three elements are not optional. They are essential for the application to be effective and it should not disappoint the potential employer. However, these three elements should be worked into the resume by professionals. To write a resume that is not easy to read and not effective, you need to look at the words on the page. Make sure that the font is appropriate and is not too small or too big. This means that it should be legible. It is also important to consider your aim when writing a resume. Isit to increase your chances of being successful? Or is it to improve your career?Do not forget that the employer will often not read the resume. If you are applying for a job where the promotion and pay are vital to the success of the business, then you will be better off looking for a different wa y of doing things. You should be aware that it is the personal impression that can make or break a career.

Have you heard the rumor going round Pssst! Theres no jobs! - CareerAlley

Have you heard the rumor going round Pssst! There’s no jobs! - CareerAlley We may receive compensation when you click on links to products from our partners. Some people dream of great accomplishments, while others stay awake and do them. Anonymous With 4.1 million young people (16 24) unemployed in the US, its a bleak outlook. But one Brit has put the rumor to the test by interviewing 120 successful job seekers from across the world, and learning what they did. Here at CareerAlley, he shares the startling results. If youre looking for your first job, there are probably two obstacles youre facing: Youre not really sure what you want to do Youre not applying to enough firms These are not just guesses, these are the results of comparing the differences between 120 successful first-time job seekers, and 120 unsuccessful ones. I interviewed people from the US, UK and all across Europe to try and learn what it takes to get a job in the current market. It was discovered that successful candidates apply to many more firms, and have much more drive to secure a specific job. Of the successful candidates interviewed, 65% applied to over twelve different companies, and 20% applied to over fifteen. In comparison, 84% of unsuccessful candidates only applied to just two or three firms. Do you see the difference? Successful job applicants send their CVs and Cover Letters to over four times the amount of companies. They increase their chances and get a job as a result. Furthermore, between 100 250 people apply to every single entry-level job in the US. Yet 15% of unsuccessful candidates didnt even want the job they applied to! This is a huge obstacle that must be overcome if you want to make sure you get a job. You must be sure that you want the job. If you dont, then the company wont want you. With so much choice out there, its understandable to see why youd be confused I certainly was. A great way of whittling down the options is to write a list of all the products, services, organisations and people that you love: Starbucks, wine, basketball, Converse, journalism If these are the things you already love and recommend to friends on a regular basis, why not do it for a living? Figuring out exactly what you want to do is the first step to securing a job. The second is to apply to as many relevant firms as possible. As mentioned above, successful candidates apply to over four times as many companies as unsuccessful ones. To really put this to the test, I applied to over one hundred companies and sat back to see what happened. Using productivity tools, I managed to create all the applications in just sixty minutes. Three weeks later I had fourteen internship offers, eight interviews and three full-time job offers (of which I have accepted one). This experiment showed that in the super-competitive job market that exists today, by maximising your chances you really do stand a strong chance of landing a job. This experiment raises the questions as to whether Universities and schools should be doing more to push their students into applying to more positions within the current economic crisis. To try and help young people directly, I have created a free online course explainingwhere to get first jobs. It explains in-depth the research and application strategies I used, as well as more insights from the surveys of successful Graduates. 5 Reasons Why Blogging Is Here To Stay

5 Reasons Why Blogging Is Here To Stay The term blog is easily one of the most popular words uttered every day, probably even in the same breath as Google when referring to searching for something online. It doesn’t come as a surprise that blogging is probably the most widely used form of content marketing today. However, we must first ask ourselves what a blog is. A blog is simply one’s personal site. Others have labeled blogs as the modern version of a diary where one shares content about what they are most passionate about. The law of the universe dictates that people are bound to outgrow certain things and habits. It is no wonder that some have started to question the ability of the blogging industry to withstand the test of time. Rest easy if you’ve wanted to start your own blog for the longest time but hesitated because you felt too many people are doing it already. Blogging is more alive than ever and here are five reasons that back up that statement. 1.      Love for Blogging As earlier mentioned, human beings love to share information and especially information on matters that they are very passionate about. According to WebsiteBuilder.org there are 1.5 billion blogs in existence today all over the internet. If you compare this figure with the total number of internet users worldwide it means that nearly a third of internet user’s worldwide blog. This number is only going to grow because the number of internet users increases exponentially on an annual basis. Additionally, the statistics also state that a half of the top 200 fortune 500 companies have a public corporate blog. Furthermore, 6.7 million people use blogging sites to blog while 12 million people blog via social media. Information is power and that is why the love for blogging is at all-time high. 2.      Huge Impact on Businesses It’s no secret that businesses are leveraging the benefits of blogging so as to stay ahead of the competition. Any online marketing strategist today will point out the fact that blogging is the most important tool for content sharing. A business’ brand awareness automatically increases once they appear on a blog or have their own blog. Experts at Website Builder  state that 70% of potential customers learn about a company through articles as opposed to ads on the web. It is also worth noting that companies that own a blog receive 97% more links to their site thus increasing traffic and serving as a brilliant search engine optimization strategy. This automatically translates to more visitors to their websites and more sales with 92% of companies who blog several times a day acquire at least one client from the blog. Using the statistics from Website Builder SMEs allocate 42% of their marketing budget to content marketing. Return on investment is also factored in with SMEs that blog getting 126% more lead growth than those who don’t. Online business have perhaps been the biggest beneficiaries of blogging.  Potential clients will obviously feel more confident about a product have reading about on their favorite blog. The statistics also show that 51% of blog readers are also online shoppers with most customers having been swayed by recommendations that they read on a blog. In fact, most businesses are advised to make at least one blog post at least once a week on the same day. 3.      Sharing Content The beauty with blogging is that its foundation isn’t professional expertise or being tech savvy, it relies on interests, passions and the inquisitive nature of human beings. Content has to stay simple, interesting and exciting! Blogs on cooking, sports, politics and entertainment are some of the most popular topics out there. This does not in any way mean that one should limit themselves to those particular topics alone. The key is to find your niche because out there is your audience who are most likely interested in the same thing as you. Statistics collected by Website Builder show that 94% of people who share blog posts think that it could be informative to others. 4.      Make a living off your blog Freelancers and professional bloggers will tell how they managed to make money simply from being consistent on their blogs and slowly building an audience. Display advertising is still among the most commonly used techniques of online marketing. Several blogs have taken advantage of this and sold space on their blogs to different businesses and people seeking to promote their own sites or products. Writing recommendation articles or reviews about other people’s products or items is also a great way of deriving income from your blog. Additionally, there is also affiliate marketing, promoting offline businesses and many more that we shall look at some other time. 5.      Readership While true that people do indeed love blogging, the same goes for readership. Our friends at Website Builder offer us certain statistics to back this claim up. 23% of time spent on the internet is on social networks and blogs. They also tell us that 77% of all internet users read blogs. It is narrowed down further to students who have been noted to spend most of their time on the internet reading blogs. Additionally, people tend to read about 10 blog posts per day. With readership at an all-time high there is absolutely no way that blogs can become obsolete, at least not any time soon. Now Let’s Infer! We are sure of one thing, people around the world are always going to be interested in something. The beauty with blogs is that they can always be tailored to suit the interests of the particular audience.
